What photo works if most of mine were taken from across the arena?
More of them will work than you expect. A phone photo is fine. What matters is that his head and his eye are in focus and take up a decent part of the picture. Barn light is dim and yellow almost everywhere, and that is normal to work with. Send the photo you love: you see the finished design before you pay, and if it will not print well at the size you chose, we tell you first.
Can the design use his barn name and his show name?
Yes. Most horses answer to one name and are registered under another. You can set the barn name large with the show name beneath it, or the other way around, with the years alongside. Tell us which name the poem should use and that is the one it uses.
He was a lease horse and never legally mine. Can I still do this?
Yes. Whose name was on the paperwork has very little to do with who did the mucking and the wrapping and the loving. There is no ownership requirement of any kind: a school horse, a horse you rode at the barn for ten years, or one you leased for a season all count.
Which size suits a tack room, and which suits the house?
The 11x14 at $119 is the size most people choose, and it holds a longer poem comfortably at reading distance. The 8x10 at $79 suits a tack room shelf or a narrow strip of wall. Over a mantel or up a stairway, the 16x20 at $169 and the 20x30 at $249 give the poem real presence. Can the photograph have both of us in it, horse and rider?
Yes, and many people choose exactly that. A picture of the two of you at the gate, or walking out after a class, often says what a posed conformation shot cannot. The poem can be written to him, or written to you about him. Tell us which sounds right and we write it that way.
How long does it take to arrive?
Roughly 8 to 12 business days from the day you approve the design to the day it reaches your door, with free shipping within the US. Nothing starts until you have read the poem and said yes.
What if the words are not right?
Tell us and we change them. You read the poem and see the whole design before you pay, and you can take a full refund any time before it goes to print. Nobody should hang a tribute that sounds like somebody else’s horse.
